Moritzburg Festival Academy: 2 – 15 August 2010

Ever since its founding in 2006, the Moritzburg Festival Academy acquired an excellent reputation as an international, innovative and creative musical workshop and therefore has become a permanent component of the Moritzburg Festival. Every year in August, students from all over the world are chosen to participate in the Academy and form the Festival Orchestra by an internationally advertised selection process. Alongside the orchestral work, chamber music plays an important role at the Academy as well. In this way participants have the opportunity to work togehter with an internationally renowned conductor and established soloists of the music scene and perform in several concerts on tour as well as within the Moritzburg Festival. In 2010 the orchestra will be conducted by Alondra de la Parra. The following faculty members are present for chamber music and orchestra sectional rehearsals:

In 2010 again, excellent young musicians are invited to apply for participation in the Moritzburg Festival Academy (deadline: 26 April 2010; date of receipt). The Moritzburg Festival covers all costs for travel, accommodation and food in a full scholarship.
